Catfish Fingerlings Production

 We use superior quality of African catfish that grows uniformly.

For production of catfish fingerling artificial reproduction is done since it does not spawn spontaneously.

We identify  the one to use in the production, the female should have ripe eggs  then weight the female fish.

 Separate them from the other and keep them in the holding tanks for 5hours in preparation of the female injection

We induce  the female with  Ovaprim hormone which is done in the night which it will take 12hrs with room temperature of 28.

Set the incubation area

After 12hrs,  sacrifice the male and cut the belly in order remove milt sac and put them in a clean surface.

Bring the female out gently and cover the head with a clean ,moist towel then strip the eggs out of the fish.

Measure the eggs.

Cut the milt sac into bits to release the milt.

Mix thoroughly  and add fresh water and continue mixing to prevent the eggs sticking.

Spread the eggs in the tray egg inside the incubation system.

Then it takes 24hrs to hatch and then start feeding  ready artemia after 2 days of hatch after finishing the yolk.

Monitor for 12 days then transfer to the nursery fingerling system.

Which we sell after 6 weeks.
