Jumbo Fish Farm (JFF) engages in strategic partnerships to drive growth, sustainability, and community impact within Kenya’s aquaculture sector.
Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB)
JFF partners with LREB to support fish farming in Kenya’s lake region, particularly benefiting smallholder farmers. This collaboration emphasizes improving production capacities and creating a structured support system that enhances regional aquaculture development.
Agricultural Sector Development Support Program (ASDSP)
Through ASDSP, JFF extends resources and expertise to smallholder farmers, improving productivity and market access. This partnership supports comprehensive farmer training in fish farming, including sustainable practices and entrepreneurial skills, enabling smallholders to become competitive players in the market.
Farm Africa
Working with Farm Africa, JFF focuses on environmental sustainability and food security by developing resilient aquaculture ecosystems. This partnership benefits local communities through ecosystem management, sustainable farming methods, and improved local food production.
Gatsby Africa
JFF and Gatsby Africa are exploring partnerships to implement technology-driven aquaculture solutions in Kenya. This collaboration is expected to introduce advanced technologies to increase efficiency, promote sustainability, and expand JFF’s capacity in the sector.
Aquafind
In partnership with Aquafind from Norway, JFF is enhancing its operational efficiency by integrating high-quality equipment and technology. Aquafind supplies advanced, durable equipment that supports sustainable and efficient fish farming practices, contributing to JFF’s overall productivity and quality standards.
The Aquaculture Consortium (TAC)
JFF collaborates closely with TAC, along with Vemric Enterprises, Viking Enterprises, and Kamida Enterprises, to create a circular economy within aquaculture. Each partner has a specialized role, from sustainable fish feed production to waste management, creating a closed-loop system that minimizes waste and promotes environmental sustainability.
Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI) and Kenya Fisheries Services (KeFS)
Through this partnership, JFF contributes to the development of policies and standards within the fisheries sector, working on sustainable fisheries management practices and regulatory compliance, which benefits the broader aquaculture industry in Kenya.
World Resources Institute (WRI)
Applying insights from WRI, JFF addresses food loss and waste, particularly within the omena (dagaa) value chain. This guidance enables JFF to implement waste reduction practices, addressing critical food security issues and promoting sustainable value chain management.
