This past
week, we officially wrapped up the Norec preparatory training, an important
milestone before beginning our six-month Kenya-Norway Exchange Programme with
our partners Aquafind AS and Val Skoler.
Under the
guidance of our trainer, Patience Malunga Sharukai, and facilitators including
Ongezwa Mbele , Herbert Wamalwa and Caleb Gichuhi, we explored:
?
Intercultural
challenges & stereotypes
?
Ethical
principles in practice
?
Skills
mapping, health & safety
?
Rights
& responsibilities as Norec participants
The
sessions were engaging, insightful, and deeply rooted in Norec?s ethical
principles of reciprocity, equity, solidarity, and shared responsibility.
Beyond the classroom, our team connected with participants from other exchange
projects sharing experiences, exchanging knowledge, and building friendships
across borders.
We
sincerely thank the Norec team for equipping us with the tools, values, and
confidence to embark on this journey. This training has set the tone for our
exchange, where we will not only share knowledge on aquaculture and
sustainability but also grow together as global citizens.
We are
proud to be part of the Kenya?Norway Resilient & Sustainable Aquaculture
Exchange Programme.
