During our working week in Siaya County, we paid a courtesy visit to JARAMOGI OGINGA ODINGA UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (JOOUST) together with the team from Jumbo Fish Farm, and our partners Val Skoler and AquaFind under the Norec Exchange Program.
We were warmly received by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Aggrey D. M. Thuo and Prof. Julius O. Manyala. The visit reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to strengthening collaboration in aquaculture development, research, and skills training.
Through this partnership, JARAMOGI OGINGA ODINGA UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (JOOUST) students will gain hands-on practical experience at Jumbo Fish Farm, particularly at the hatchery and outgrow production units, complementing their academic training with real-world aquaculture skills.
This collaboration represents another important step toward building stronger industry–academia linkages that support sustainable aquaculture and blue economy development in Kenya.
