Together with the Val Skoler team, we recently held a hands-on tilapia processing session—and the reality of the process quickly set in.

From scaling (where the fish definitely puts up a fight), to gutting (where precision and hygiene matter), to thorough washing—participants experienced what it truly takes to deliver a quality product.

Then came the game changer:

These practical techniques extend shelf life, reduce losses, and open access to better markets—especially for smallholder farmers.
